This is to all of you with weird and wacky coping mechanisms… Don’t just skip the page, if you know you’re one of us! Those of us, who cut, pierce, burn, pull out your hair, scratch yourself, do drugs, drink, smoke, masturbate, sleep around, etc. Yeah, I’m talking to you! Stop that thought and listen up! Listen to your mama! She knows what she’s talking about! Okay, on the serious side… Jesus loves YOU. Yes, Jesus loves you, with your scars, burns, piercings, tattoos and any other evidence of sin and weird mannerisms. He loves you with your goofy nose, crooked teeth, strange way of walking and squint eyes, the truth is that God doesn’t “see” your outer being, sure He sees it (He made you!), but that’s not really important to Him. What God really is interested in is what you look like on the inside, and what a beautiful sight that is if you have Jesus in your heart. ‘Yeah, but I feel so dirty and sinful, my heart feels so black!’ God doesn’t see any of that. He sees Jesus in you. God understands the guilty feelings and resentment towards yourself after falling into sin. After all, we are humans and at the time you may feel ‘but how could God ever forgive me for doing what I’ve done?’ It’s simple; just ask! God will forgive you. 70x7 times a DAY! Doesn’t that tell you something about His love? But don’t see it as a ‘get-out-jail-free-card’. It doesn’t give you an excuse to give in to temptation. ‘God will forgive me’ Uh Uh! ‘But you just said…’ I know what I said, but would you forgive someone if they say sorry for something and just turn around and do it again? Would you forgive someone if you know they don’t mean it and are just saying sorry so because they have to? I didn’t think so. If you repent and you really are sorry, and you try to change, then God will forgive you. And not under any other circumstances. God loves us and doesn’t want to see us hurting and alone. That’s where Jesus comes in; He died for YOU and I! Yes, He actually gave His life (and in a very painful manner) for US… when Christ is your foundation and you are fully in Him just as He is in you, then He will fill that void-that terrible black hole within your life that just gets deeper and deeper and darker and darker, day by day. Nope, it’ doesn’t have to be there. Christ can fill that seemingly “bottomless pit”. Isn’t that an AWESOME thought? God and Jesus love US enough that Jesus would die for US, forgive our sins AND still fill the voids in our lives and then bless us? Wow, now that’s love! If you’re thinking, “Dang, I want that love… That fulfillment. That forgiveness and peace…” I’m sure you know what to do, ask God right now-just where you are, “Father, please forgive me of all my sins. Please deliver me from this unhealthy coping mechanism I have. Help me to turn to you when I face temptation and any problem that might lead to temptation…” Go on, it’ll be one of the best decisions you make… You know we’re right. Try and make it more personal, at the bottom of this page is a confessional, just copy, print and sign it, it makes it official and it serves as a physical reminder of your promise to God. Place it in your bible or journal as a constant reminder. It also helps to tell a friend about your decision so that they can hold you accountable to it. We’re talking from experience…
Keep strong, Tigger and Cinna

Today I pledge, as a child of God, to resist temptation and rely on God’s grace and power to bring me through difficult and strenuous times. I pledge to draw near to God and not to backslide, even in times of pressure, hard work, fun or rest. Today I realize that Christ is the great provider of strength and that I need Him to be my Lord and Saviour and that without Him I cannot resist the temptation to fall in to sin.
